I believe in offering a tailored and compassionate approach to help people manage distress and improve mental health and well-being. I have over fifteen years experience working within NHS adult services as well as time spent working abroad with adolescents and adults in the United Arab Emirates. I am currently a Principal Clinical Psychologist within an NHS Addictions service with a focus on supporting people who have experienced trauma. I offer appointments online or in Sale, Cheshire.
I provide psychological assessment, therapy and intervention for a wide range of difficulties including:
- Anxiety (e.g. obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, panic, generalised anxiety, health anxiety, social anxiety)
- Mood difficulties (e.g. depression, post natal depression)
- Self-esteem issues
- Trauma (e.g. post traumatic stress disorder, physical/emotional/sexual abuse including childhood abuse, complex trauma)
- Relationship/interpersonal issues
- Eating disorders (e.g. binge eating, bulimia nervosa)
- Somatic difficulties (e.g. chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome)
- Adjustment issues
- Grief & Loss
- Substance use
This list is not exhaustive as many people find their difficulties harder to define, please contact me to discuss your needs further.
I offer a number of therapeutic styles to suit a person's individual needs including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), compassion focused therapy, cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) and solution-focused therapy. I am also trained in EMDR therapy (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) and attachment focused EMDR.
I am experienced in providing training and consultation to health professionals. I also supervise other professionals, please contact me by email for further discussion and supervision fees.
